Northampton based green energy experts Gegan Solutions have been announced as winners at the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and World Biogas Association (WBA) annual awards.

Their innovative compactAD anaerobic digestion plant, which coverts food-waste into electricity, heat & cooling has won the “Best Small Scale Biogas Plant” award, beating stiff competition from across the globe to achieve the prestigious award.

Technical Director at Gegan Solutions, Gary Burgess, said “We are extremely proud to win this award. We have worked tremendously hard over the last two years to engineer our CompactAD solution from scratch. This is great news for us as a business and will help us to scale up our operations and take the next step in helping more businesses turn their waste into energy and reduce their carbon footprint.”

The award is the second accolade for the business who won the Rushlight Organic Resource award earlier this year.

The ADBA awards were announced on the third day of the World Biogas Expo & Summit.  Sam Hinton, technical support manager at the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA), hosted the virtual award ceremony from home, in a first for the organisation, which usually hosts a grand ceremony (in person) to celebrate the best in the AD and biogas business. The judging panel remarked that Gegan Solutions offered a “Very impressive small scale solution”.
