Soho hair salon Suite Caroline has commissioned Icelandic artist Shoplifter to bring a colorful, signature experiential art installation to the downtown salon.

Online PR News – 09-October-2020 – New York, NY – Soho hair salon Suite Caroline, owned and founded by Editorial Color Director Lena Ott, has commissioned Icelandic artist Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir, better known as Shoplifter, to bring a colorful, signature installation to the downtown salon.

They join forces in their ongoing celebration of color, playfulness and optimism at a time when the art and beauty industries need it more than ever.

Above the salon rinse station, Shoplifter has energized the space with an unexpected art installation, creating a joyful trio of fuzzy stalactites in her signature medium, rainbow-colored synthetic hair.

As Suite Caroline salon clients receive services ranging from neon hues, edgy chops, and intricately-perfected Balayage blonde, they’ll be immersed in a dreamy world of prismatic texture when they lean back in a rinse station chair and look up.

Lena Ott commented, “I am thrilled to have partnered with Shoplifter to celebrate our dedication to hair as art. At Suite Caroline, we value that our salon experience is one of deep reflection, and we hope this new, immersive installation further creates space for our clients to reflect and dream.”

“It feels very fitting to be installing my work in Lena’s hair salon - I admire her incredibly inspiring and nuanced coloring techniques. I chose to activate the space above the rinse station to allow her clients to zone out when gazing at the colors and texture of the sculptural artwork that consist of three “Nervelings” I call Sunny, Party and Gothy,” Shoplifter added.
