OFFICIALLY LICENSED BUILDERS INTRODUCED INTO THE UK.
Liverpool – 1st July 2014 – For Immediate Release.
United Kingdom Federation of Builders (UKFB) is to become the first company in the UK to introduce fully accredited licensed builders & trades into the Construction Industry. This free service is now available to all property owners, construction operators and professional organisations throughout the United Kingdom.
Following years of debate and discussion on this subject, little or no positive action has been implemented to combat the activities of cowboy builders and rogue traders. UKFB has taken this ground-breaking motion to raising standards in an effort to protect our law abiding builders & trades and the general public from this ongoing menace.
The UK has more than adequate rules and mandatory regulations that govern the way service providers operate in the domestic sector. Utilising these regulations to the full extent, UKFB has forced itself into a position where we can legally offer fully licensed trades to operate in our industry. All UKFB licensed registered builders or trades displaying our logo or using our name are qualified, accredited building operatives and as such will receive the full backing of UKFB; we guarantee and sanction the credibility of all our builders & trades. Trades will be required to comply with a clearly set out terms of service and code of practice to ensure quality and value for money to the consumer.
Ron Pye, CEO of United Kingdom Federation of Builders commented “We are proud to finally be in a position where we can offer UK builders and trades an official licensing system. We are also able to offer a guarantee to the consumer that they are employing a building professional.” “For far too long has the licensing of builders and trades been a subject of debate, it is an issue I have been passionate about for many years and I believe it is to the benefit of our industry.” “We need to highlight the best builders and trades in our industry by raising standards and up-skill the industry as a whole.”
Pye continued “We must also take measures to eradicate the scourge that cowboy builders and the like have tarnished our industry with, we are never going to completely eliminate that element but UKFB’s licensing system is definitely a step in the right direction to achieving a modicum of control.”
Licensed members of UKFB have signed agreements and terms and conditions that clearly state they will only work within the confines of the rules and regulations that are set down as mandatory laws within the UK.
Builders & trades are also advised of a full legal disciplinary procedure that can be implemented should they be in breach of their licensing agreements.
