The donations will be fitted into a 2014 Honda Ridgeline truck and donated to the Lowcountry Food Bank.
Online PR News – 04-June-2014 – Charleston, SC – CHARLESTON, South Carolina – Stokes Honda North (http://stokeshondanorth.com) is accepting donations through June 30 for their “No Hunger Summer” food drive.
The dealership’s aim is to fill a 2014 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with as many non-perishable food items possible and then donate them to the Lowcountry Food Bank. The Lowcountry Food Bank (www.lowcountryfoodbank.org) aims to redistribute food to feed hungry children throughout South Carolina’s ten coastal counties who often rely on free school lunches.
"With the school year ending and children starting their summer vacations, we realized that it would be a struggle for many to provide their children with the same nutritious meals they have been receiving on a daily basis,” says Tamara Corley of Stokes Honda North. “The Lowcountry Foodbank’s Summer Feeding Program helps meet the needs of those children by providing them with nutritious meals and snacks when they do not have access to free or reduced price school meals. Stokes Honda North is a part of a community, and it is important that we show our support to a community that has supported us for over 40 years!"
Food items should fit within the Lowcountry Food Bank’s Nutrition Initiative. Some examples of compatible foods include peanut butter, canned tuna, low sodium pasta sauces, whole wheat flour, dried fruit, dried herbs without salt, fat free cooking sprays, and low fat/fat free salad dressings.
A complete list of eligible non-perishable food items can be found at http://stokeshondanorth.com/No-Hunger-Summer-Food-Drive.aspx.
