KIIT World School Is Awarded by British Council

International Award for Business Idea NUTRICAFE- NON junk food Canteen

Online PR News – 26-May-2014 – delhi – New Delhi, Outer-Delhi-based school KIIT World School was awarded with the international award by the British Council, U.K. KIIT Students begged International Social Enterprise Challenge profit Awards 2013. The outstanding idea of NutriCafe- A canteen where only healthy and nutritious food is served leads them to this internationally acclaimed award. . Students received cash prize of $2,500 from British Council.

This NutriCafe’s doesn’t allow any junk food in the premises which leads to the health issues of students. It serves quality menu like: soup, corn, rice, idli and more. Students running this cafe within the premises have done a noble cause with it to donate the entire profit from this cafe to a NGO working for the betterment of the society. Around 1076 schools from 76 countries participated in the Business Ideas category.

The School Enterprise Challenge by the presenters was designed in a way of transforming large numbers of young people from all over the world from job seekers into job creators. The competition challenges young people to establish a socially responsible, yet profitable, business at their school. In 2013, over 1065 schools from 80 countries benefited from participating in the School Enterprise Challenge. KIIT is leading the way in India with an innovative and sustainable school business- Nutri Cafe that has not only positively impacted its students but also their wider community.

Gone are the days when one waited for the opportunities to knock at the door, the twenty century learner should be equipped with skills where he can create opportunities not only for himself but for society at large.
