SANDBACH, CHESHIRE, UK / May 19th, 2014. School Advisor Ltd launches www.schooladvisor.co.uk, a comprehensive research and rating tool for schools in the United Kingdom, bringing together official government data and displaying it in a concise format.
Online PR News – 21-May-2014 – Sandbach, Cheshire, UK – School Advisor Ltd has launched a new and comprehensive research and rating site to help parents make a well-informed decision as to the best local schools in their area.
The often complicated and overwhelming data from, in England, Ofsted and the Department for Education has been condensed into an easy-to-understand panel. A shortlist can be created and stored to be reviewed later. Similar data is served up for schools in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland, all of which operate different education systems. In total, there is data on over 25,000 schools in the UK.
In addition, parents and past pupils have the ability to leave their own ratings and comments for schools in order to give researching parents a better insight as to what the reality of the school is. By its very nature, an external inspection is only a snapshot over a day or two and could never reflect the day-to-day performance of a school. An example of this is Sandbach School which was rated by Ofsted as ‘Requires improvement’ on 22nd March 2013, whereas the parent view left on 10th May 2014 is that it is excellent: http://www.schooladvisor.co.uk/school/137491/?sort=date .
Schools have the ability to create their own account and to respond to ratings as well as promoting themselves with their admissions policy, mission statement, profile, logo and a photograph. Email alerts can be set up to, for instance, notify a school when just poor ratings are left or alternatively when any rating has been posted. School Advisor Ltd sees this facility as an additional route for schools to promote themselves to their target market.
All user and school ratings and comments are moderated prior to being published. Both reviews and school responses must meet strict guidelines detailed here; http://www.schooladvisor.co.uk/review-guidelines/
Incorporating a powerful search facility, schools are indicated by a highly visual green marker for ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ schools, red for ‘Requires improvement’ and ‘Special measures’ and brown for as-yet unrated ones. Schools can be filtered by a number of criteria including primary and secondary, faith, gender, state or independent and so on.
School Advisor Ltd agrees with the Minister of State for Schools, David Law’s comment, “I want more children to jump over the existing bar. But we must prepare children for success in secondary school, not for failure or mediocrity”. It is School Advisor Ltd.’s aim to become the tool of choice for parents helping them to access the very best school for their child by offering a holistic approach to the otherwise daunting task of researching and selecting a school.
The website is provided completely without charge.
