Visa Rules have changed in terms what language tests are accepted as a proof of English level.
Online PR News – 12-May-2014 – Bournemouth – UK Visas and Immigration announced on 17 April that there will be a major change in English testing for UK visas.
So far both TOEIC and TOEFL exams were used as Secure English Language Testing (SELT) for visa purposes.
As we have learnt recently those two exams are no longer accepted and some visa applicants will have to do another exam to prove their proficiency in English.
Those who have taken the above mentioned exams before 6 April, can still use them as proof of English on their visa applications.
So what exam can still be accepted?
One of the best and most commonly accepted is Cambridge Exam: Preliminary, First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency levels.
Another commonly accepted exam is IELTS – International English Language Testing System – that also tests all four areas of English skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking.
For more information students / workers are requested to contact visa officials in their countries.
