Kraft Cheddar Cheese Wins “Product of the Year Gulf 2014”

Kraft Cheddar Cheese from Mondelēz International (formerly Kraft Foods) has been awarded “Product of the Year 2014” for its New Easy to Use Can at the recently held “Product of the Year Gulf 2014” awards.

Online PR News – 11-May-2014 – Dubai – Dubai, UAE, 2nd March 2014: Kraft Cheddar Cheese from MondelÄ“z International (formerly Kraft Foods) has been awarded “Product of the Year 2014” for its New Easy to Use Can at the recently held “Product of the Year Gulf 2014” awards. The awards, which are voted upon an initial jury review and followed by a Gulf-wide consumer survey, recognized Kraft Cheddar Cheese New Easy to Use innovation for its practicality and convenient usage attributes compared to other companies’ products in the same field.

Kraft Cheddar Cheese enjoys a well-established equity with the Arab consumer for almost 100 years. Its strength lies in its heritage and long standing presence, as well as its rich & distinctive cheddar taste which has been consistent through all these years. Kraft is widely regarded as a cheese expert offering superior & international quality adapted to local tastes. The product is primarily used in cooking with its distinctive taste enhancing the taste of meals.

In 2013, the Easy to Use Can innovation was introduced based on consumers’ feedback of loving the cheese but finding it inconvenient and cumbersome to open the can. Based on this feedback, Mondelēz developed a brand new packaging which is the first in the category to make the product easier to open and use, i.e. the Easy To Use Can!

First, a simple yet innovative ring pull mechanism was added to the tin cover of the packaging – a first-of-its - kind innovation in the cheese category. This revision in the packaging’s functionality made Kraft Cans much easier to open and eliminated the need for a can opener. Second, the new Kraft Can took on a unique conical shape and it’s inside surface became smoother, thus allowing easier release of the cheese in one swift move as a single block.

All these improvements have added convenience to Kraft Cans and enhanced its visual appeal, allowing the brand to deliver its distinctive taste with a more modern feel!
