THRILL seekers are being sought to jump into action for fundraising skydives to help Mezze Restaurants raise funds for its nominated charity.
Online PR News – 24-April-2014 – weston-super-mare – THRILL seekers from across the region are being sought to jump into action for fundraising skydives to help Mezze Restaurants raise funds for its nominated charity.
Mezze Restaurants is supporting The Friends of Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre’s £2 Million Linac Machine Radiotherapy Appeal.
The new Linac machine boasts the latest technological advances to treat virtually every shape and size of tumour using thousands of separate radiation beams.
In buying a Linac, The Friends will keep Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre at the leading edge of world-class radiotherapy.
To help get fundraising off to a flying start, Mezze is looking for brave souls to undertake parachute jumps from 10,000 feet or an exhilarating solo (static line) jump from up to 3,000 feet.
Teams of between six and 10 can jump at any one time, with the nearest approved airfields at Honiton, Swindon or Salisbury, where Mezze will be booking slots in May and June, (additional dates can be added to meet further demand).
No experience is necessary as full training is given, and if participants can raise upwards of £360 (static line); £395 (tandem skydive) or £535 (freefall), they will receive the jump free of charge.
Mezze Director, Alex Tryfonos, said: “One in three of us will get cancer and for most it will be the toughest thing we ever face.
“The Linac machine will equip the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre with the very latest tool to target tumours with millimetre accuracy.
“Mezze Restaurants is therefore delighted to be staging Mezze team skydives, which we hope will raise thousands of pounds towards the appeal.”
There are three types of jump available – an ‘Accelerated FreeFall’ where you can experience the thrill of skydiving solo from up to 12,000 feet, a ‘Tandem Skydive’ from 10,000 feet attached to a professional instructor or a ‘Static Line’ jump, which is performed solo from up to 3,000 feet.
