Awards Recognizing Excellence in Patient Care to be Announced Beginning May 12th
Online PR News – 13-April-2014 – Ann Arbor, Michigan – Tangent Medical Technologies (www.tangentmedical.com), an innovator in IV therapy products and creator of the NovaCath™ Integrated IV Catheter System, yesterday launched the second annual Nurses’ Choice Awards in conjunction with National Nurses Week, which runs from May 6-12, 2014. The Nurses’ Choice Awards is a recognition program developed by Tangent Medical that targets clinicians across the nation and empowers them to nominate co-workers who exemplify excellence in patient care. Award submissions are open now and continue through May 8, 2014 at www.TangentMedical.com/NCA2014.
Finalists will be announced and featured on Tangent Medical’s website during National Nurses Week, and beginning the week of May 12, one of five winners will be announced each day throughout that week. Nominators and winners will both be rewarded with the opportunity to earn hundreds of dollars in educational prizes. Nominators are asked to submit individuals who have been an inspiration in any or all of these areas:
• Improving Patient Outcomes in IV Therapy
• Improving the Overall Quality of Patient Care
• Improving Patient Comfort & Satisfaction
• Improving Patient Safety
“A lot is asked of nurses in terms of ensuring patient safety, comfort, satisfaction and setting patients up for a positive outcome, especially when it comes to IV therapy. And that is just one aspect of the job,” said Elyse Kemmerer White, Tangent Medical Director of Marketing. “We had an overwhelming response last year with numerous touching stories that we proudly shared in our blog. The Nurses’ Choice Awards is a small way to bring awareness to the many nurses across our country who are going above and beyond for their patients every day. We continue to look forward to sharing many of this year’s submitted stories through social media and our website and provide national recognition for the winners and nominators who are taking the time to recognize excellence in patient care.”
Tangent Medical, creators of the NovaCath™ Integrated IV Catheter System, has been engaged with clinicians and hospital administrators in ongoing discussions around the experiences of healthcare workers who administer IV therapy. “We are excited about our progress in raising awareness to challenges healthcare workers face and the solutions we provide”, added Curtis Bloch, Tangent Medical Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Our recent ‘Your Voice Matters’ campaign raised awareness to the risk of occupational exposure to blood and educated healthcare providers on minimizing those risks. We look forward to this year’s Nurses’ Choice Awards and the upcoming launch of our next awareness campaign.”
About the Nurses’ Choice Awards
Tangent Medical will select five winners who will each receive a Nurses’ Choice Award plaque with a $300 gift card to be used for educational purposes. Winning nominators will also be rewarded with a $100 educational gift card.
Submissions close at 5pm PST on May 8, 2014. Educational gifts can be used to help fund registration fees to attend a national nursing conference, a Nursing Professional Society Membership or to purchase educational materials at the Lippincott All Nurses eStore. It’s the nurses’ choice on how they choose to spend their prize winnings.
