Online PR News – 19-July-2010 – – Radio Clyde is offering its listeners the chance to speak up with a new voiceover course beginning in August.
The workshop programme - An Introduction to Voice – is designed to deliver a unique insight into the world of professional voiceovers. The course, a peek behind the curtain into the working world of voiceovers, is a perfect starting point for anyone considering using their voice professionally.
A skilled and respected industry vocal trainer will provide students with the basic training required to how to make a proficient voiceover. Experienced commercial production staff will work with trainees in a studio environment and be on hand to offer guidance and advice.
Tracey McNellan, Station Director at Radio Clyde, said:
“By providing this course, we will train a range of people to become accomplished professional voiceover artists.
“Radio Clyde is a great station to cut your teeth in the voiceover industry and those taking up the course will learn a variety of voiceover techniques which will benefit them in their careers. The preparation this course offers is first class and participants will learn many new skills with the training offered.”
The workshops are ideal for those with little or no experience in the industry. Through group exercises and one-to-one personal guidance, students will learn how to make the most of their vocal chords.
During the third week of the course students will have the opportunity to get in front of the microphone and voice a 30 second commercial, which will then be fully produced and given to them as a record of their training.
Julia Dow, who took part in the pilot ‘Introduction to Voice’ in 2009, said of the trainers and course:
“For anyone serious about doing voiceovers it’s definitely well worth the investment.”
Workshops, beginning on August 17th at 10am and 2pm, will run for three consecutive weeks and involve three hours of training and discussion each week. Total cost is £270 for three sessions.
