“We are delighted with this expansion of our courses. We have partner colleges in Ireland, Greece and Nigeria who teach our courses, but this is the first time that students will travel from Brazil to study with us. Our courses combine the best European theory with real-world practical applications of both journalism and event management. I’m looking forward to welcoming our new students” said Ellen Gunning, Director of the Irish Academy of Public Relations.
The Academy has appointed WSI Intercâmbio, a student exchange company, as their representive in Brazil. They attend all the educational fairs in Brazil and have a number of representatives across the country. “We had a number of requests from students last year to study journalism in Ireland. The Irish Academy of Public Relations has graduates all over the world and is internationally known. They also have experience of teaching foreign students who speak English as a second language. We are very excited to be working with the Academy this year” said Pedro Miranda, Executive Director, WSI Intercambio.
For the last five years the Academy has been providing journalism training to Italian students each summer. The students enjoy studying here because the Irish people are so friendly and willing to answer the questions posed by student-journalists. The Brazilian students can look forward to a worth-while and fulfilling experience when they come to study in Ireland this summer.
