First-ever tablet and smartphone-based grain cart solution
Online PR News – 27-March-2014 – Saskatoon, SK Canada – J&M Manufacturing Co., Inc. has partnered with Bitstrata Systems Inc. to offer the latest in grain cart weighing and data management technology. J&M iFarm™ by Agrimatics™ is a cloud-based data management system that collects, stores and sends weigh scale data from the cart directly to a smartphone or tablet. A small battery-operated device and free mobile app turns a smartphone or tablet into a full-featured grain cart display and data management system. The system can export data in a spreadsheet-friendly format, and is compatible with the upcoming Agrimatics™ cloud service for convenient data sharing and archiving.
The patent-pending technology enables remote operators to see the grain cart weight from their smartphone or tablet within a range of 400 feet. The system automatically collects and stores data when the grain cart is unloaded, without need of an additional sensor. Options for moisture sensor and automatic gate-shutoff are also available.
When asked why J&M chose to collaborate with Bitstrata Systems Inc., Joe Knapke, J&M’s service manager stated, "What really interested me about this system, is that it is leading edge technology, that is simple to use and works. With troubleshooting scale systems on a regular basis, common sense simplicity goes a long way. Also the fact that it can be retrofitted to almost any scale system we have out there as long as it has a junction box on it."
Ian Meier, CEO of Bitstrata Systems states, “We immediately saw a synergy between J&M’s streamlined implement designs and the leading-edge user experience of our Agrimatics™ products. The ease of use and connectivity of our tablet and smartphone-based solutions is changing the industry.”
