Online PR News – 26-March-2014 – Beloit, WI – NorthPointe Clinic will offer a free seminar on Childhood Obesity on Monday, March 10th at 7 p.m. in the Community Education Room at NorthPointe. Dr. Suresh Sreedharan, Pediatrician, will be the presenter and will address the risks, prevention and remedies of childhood obesity.
According to national statistics, up to one out of every five children in the U. S. is overweight or obese, and this number is continuing to rise. Children have fewer weight-related health and medical problems than adults. However, overweight children are at high risk of becoming overweight adolescents and adults, placing them at risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes later in life. They are also more prone to develop stress, sadness, and low self-esteem.
This pediatric condition is the fastest growing health related problem. This seminar is of great interest to parents, as well as teachers or caregivers. The message is about keeping our children healthy and he will discuss practical ways to assure healthy weight for children. NorthPointe is located at 5605 E. Rockton Road in Roscoe near the corners of East Rockton and Willowbrook Rds. For more information about this seminar, please call 608-290-4832.
