Pro-Constitution Movie Defies Hollywood and Launches Kickstarter

In Search of Liberty, an independent film on the US Constitution, has launched a Kickstarter to raise funding for the project.

Online PR News – 19-March-2014 – Los Angeles, CA – Obama's recent appearance on Funny or Die's Between to Ferns in order to shill healthcare to a younger crowd highlights which court Hollywood is playing in. But is Hollywood really giving us the messages people want to see? One Kickstarter campaign will put the power in the hands of the people allowing conservatives to send a message to Hollywood – and to Washington.

In Search of Liberty, an independent film on the US Constitution, has launched a Kickstarter to raise funding for the project. This will provide a more democratic process of filmmaking, allowing the people who want to see the movie participate in the project via fundraising. Hollywood has largely under-catered to conservatives and this independent film will allow a conservative audience to support what kind of project they would like to see.

In Search of Liberty will be completely independently financed, produced and distributed. “God forbid we let Hollywood tell us how to make a movie about the Constitution,” says producer Norm Novitsky. “The mainstream messages that are coming out of tinsel town are too much. Do we really want our children to be continuously influenced by Miley Cyrus? Or should we be giving them a positive message for a change? I can't think of anything that would benefit the future generations more than the U.S. Constitution.”

Kickstarter has raised over $1 billion in pledges from 5.7 million donors to fund 135,000 projects since its inception in 2009. With projects like the Veronica Mars movie and stars like Zach Braff and Spike Lee posting projects on Kickstarter, the site has become an increasingly more viable option to get movie financing.
