Birmingham’s Spysure Calls for Entries to ICT Excellence Awards

Spysure is urging local technology companies to follow in its footsteps and enter the 5th ICT Excellence Awards sponsored by the Advantage West Midlands ICT Cluster.

Online PR News – 20-August-2009 – – Spysure is urging local technology companies to follow in its footsteps and enter the 5th ICT Excellence Awards sponsored by the Advantage West Midlands ICT Cluster. The technology awards honour the best technology companies region wide, and with an abundance of local talent in Birmingham, the area has a good chance of success.

Spysure was honoured in the 2008 awards where it was awarded the Best Added Value Product Award for its eponymous PC and Internet Monitoring Software – Spysure. Spysure was born out of Alphatalk Limited following internet misuse amongst its own employees which led to the creation of Spysure. Spysure’s software is already helping scores of employers worldwide to reclaim their office computers and to stamp out damaging internet activity in work time. In addition, Spysure Home Edition is available for parents who want to keep an eye on their children’s internet-based activities.

Zafar Majid, director of Spysure discussed the benefits of entering the ICT Cluster Awards: "Winning the ICT award last year gave us recognition that our team deserved. We were able to use this award to our advantage by mentioning it on our correspondence, which gave us greater credibility”.

The free to enter awards recognise top technology companies for outstanding achievements to the industry. The winners will be announced at the evening ICT Excellence Awards event following the annual ICT Conference on 10th November 2009, which is being held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Bickenhill, Solihull.

Categories in this year's awards are the ICT Excellence Award for Best Innovative Product, Best Innovative Service, Best Added Value Product, Best Added Value Service, Best Added Value Project, Best Knowledge Transfer Project and Most Improved Business. An overall champion will be selected from the winners of each of the seven categories and receive a cheque for £2,000.

An additional award, the Technology Strategy Board’s Special Award for High Growth Potential Business 2009 is also being introduced this year. Nominations for all categories must be submitted by 12 noon on Monday 28th September.
