UK Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg MP supports 1984Ensemble

Nick Clegg, the UK Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Democrats has written to the Oxford based 1984ensemble to express his support for the leading European Free-Jazz pioneers.

Online PR News – 28-February-2014 – Oxford, UK – After hearing of the meteoric rise of the highly impressive, European Free-Jazz group, the 1984ensemble, under its distinguished Director and Trombonist , Kris Reeder. Nick Clegg MP has written to the group to express his personal support for the group and its work.

Nick Clegg MP passed on 'good wishes' for the Birmingham Cathedral performance and for 'forthcoming performances'.

The 1984Ensemble is a leading free-jazz group formed in September 2013 by Royal Academy of Music London Scholar Kris Reeder and has grown into one of the major forces in the European Free-Jazz arena. Led by the highly proficient, determined and driven trombonist Kris Reeder, who has worked with the BBC and played at most of the major concert halls in the UK, the 1984ensemble produces a unique blend of free, unprepared Jazz.

When asked what he thought of Nick Clegg's endorsement Kris Reeder said, 'It's great that we have been recognised by an internationally acclaimed political figure and I hope we continue to build on our excellent track record of producing quality free-jazz music.'

The 1984ensemble is currently unsigned, but releases some of its music through EAF records, London.
