Benchmark Systems Clinical V.2 Receives CCHIT 2011 Certification

Benchmark Clinical 2.0 exceeds Federal Standards and receives the highest award (5 Stars) for ease of use.

Online PR News – 13-July-2010 – – LYNCHBURG, VA — July 6, 2010 — The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHITSM) has announced that Benchmark Clinical Version 2.0 is a pre-market, conditionally CCHIT Certified® 2011 Ambulatory EHR. During the certification process Benchmark Clinical V 2.0 earned the highest 5 Star usability rating verifying Benchmark’s attention to workflow and ease of use in the design of their software.

CCHIT certification is an essential component in a practices qualification process to receive their share of the $45 billion in EHR adoption incentives provided by the HITEC Act of ARRA. The incentive dollars allowed per physician taper off over a very specific time line starting after 2011. Benchmark is one of the early vendors receiving certification, allowing their physicians the opportunity to receive the full reimbursement allowed by law. The term meaningful use requires that practices provide proof that providers are fully utilizing an EHR in all required areas, (final rules released on 7/13 by CMS and Office of the National Coordinator), before funds can be released to the providers. Achieving meaningful use within a practice may take 6 to 12 months or slightly longer depending on the practice and the installation cycle.

“CCHIT’s extensive certification process not only positions practices to receive stimulus EHR funds but gives the practice assurance that they have chosen a product that has gone through a rigorous review by a panel of practicing physicians and IT experts” said Ernie Chastain Vice President of Benchmark. “We are very pleased to have received 2011 certification status and confirmation that our clinical product is of the highest quality.”
