The Dandy Warhols were formed in Portland, Oregon in 1993 by a group of friends led by singer Taylor-Taylor. Today, the band consists of keyboardist Zia McCabe, guitarist Peter Holmstrom, and drummer Brent De Boer.

The band has a unique sound that has developed out of inspiration from a variety of sources including The Velvet Underground, The Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, The Shadows, and The Rolling Stones. Many of their songs also include clear musical references to My Bloody Valentine.
