With a baby boom in the UK on the cards this summer, nursery bedding specialist, Bedebyes wants to make sure parents-to-be are on top of their spending and have their newborn’s nursery ready for the new arrival.

Online PR News – 18-August-2009 – – August 2009 - With a baby boom in the UK on the cards this summer, nursery bedding specialist, Bedebyes wants to make sure parents-to-be are on top of their spending and have their newborn’s nursery ready for the new arrival.

The baby bedding specialist has a wide range of lovable accessories and cot bedding for parents-to-be to choose from. All are at affordable prices and beautifully designed to suit all customers’ needs, requirements and tastes.

The prediction of the baby boom comes after supermarket giant Tesco found a surge in demand for pregnancy products.

Tesco’s sales of folic acid and other nutrients, which help babies develop during pregnancy, have risen by 51 per cent.

The retail chain has also seen a 9 per cent decline in condom purchases during the last year.

People in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire have been buying the most pregnancy aids with sales increasing by 168 per cent.

Tesco healthcare buyer, Joy Wickham, said, “We think that local hospitals in the Peterborough area, and indeed the rest of the UK, should take note of these latest statistics which suggest that baby wards could be full in the near future.

“It also looks as if there may be a link between the rising demands for pregnancy nutrients and a drop in demand for condoms suggesting that many couple are now trying for a baby.

The demand for folic acid and other nutrients to help the development of an unborn child has come out of the blue and has hit an all time high in our local pharmacies.

“What makes the increased demand even more unusual is that we are in the middle of a recession right now and a potential baby boom is perhaps the last thing that one would expect when the purse strings tighten.”

Bedebyes are fully aware of the current recession and have designed many of the products at to be incorporated into starter packages to set you up for the arrival of your newborn.

The packages known as ‘Room in a Box,’ and ‘Bed-e-bundles,’ can save parents time and money when preparing for their newborn, allowing parents to relax and enjoy the pregnancy without worrying about decorating and furnishing the nursery.
