MBA Admission 2014: MICA drops CAT/XAT cutoff, MICAT 2014 on March 2; last date Jan 31

Online PR News – 31-January-2014 – Noida, UP – Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) won’t require any threshold CAT/XAT cut off for admissions in their Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Communication (PGDM-C) programme. The institute will conduct MICAT on March 2, 2014 for the admission seekers in addition to their appearance in any of the national level entrance tests. The last date to apply for MICAT 2014 is January 31, 2014 for Indian nationals and is March 24, 2014 for NRIs and foreign nationals.
MICA will conduct separate MBA entrance test MICAT 2014 for the candidates who seek admission to this B-School. The precondition is that the candidates must have appeared in CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA or GMAT. MICAT 2014 will be a combination of subjective and objective questions.
All candidates who apply to MICA with CAT2013 / XAT2013 / XAT2014 / MAT2013 (Feb/May/ Sept/Dec) / CMAT2013 (Sept) / ATMA 2013 (Feb/May/July) GMAT (2010 onwards) irrespective of their scores, will be called for MICAT 2014 , subject to their application form being complete and accepted by MICA. The last date to apply for MICAT 2014 is January 31, 2014 and the exam will be held on March 2, 2014. The expected announcement of the MICAT 2014 result will happen in April 2014. The test will be conducted at 12 centers across the country namely Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.
MICA’s flagship two year residential program is its Post Graduate Diploma in Management Communications (PGDM-C), equivalent to MBA, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognized by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

MICA Admissions criteria 2014
Admission to the PGDM(C) programme of MICA requires a Bachelor's degree (in keeping with the 10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidates appearing for final examinations towards a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.

The admission process of MICA is divided into two stages:
MICAT 2014 stage-1-Students who have appeared for any of the following exams – CAT 2013, XAT (2013, 2014), GMAT (2010 onwards), ATMA 2013, CMAT (Sept 2013), MAT (Feb, May, Sept, Dec 2013), will be allowed to take MICAT 2014.
Although it is necessary to have appeared in above referred national management entrance examinations, qualifying the same is not mandatory to be called for 2nd stage.
Stage II: The GE/PI stage: On the basis of their performance in the MICAT 2014 only, students will be shortlisted to appear for the Group Exercise and Personal Interview stage (held in the MICA campus). The GE/PI stage will be held in the first two weeks of April 2014.
MICAT 2014 Exam pattern :

MICAT 2014 will have the sections of Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, Psychometric Section, Logical reasoning, Creative writing, General awareness and Current Affairs.
There may or may not be negative marking in the MICAT 2014. So the students should read the instructions in the paper carefully before attempting it.
