Online PR News – 24-January-2014 – Bologna, Italy – Bologna, Italy, 24th January 2014: Bologna Children’s Book Fair, one of the most popular book events focused on literature for children, encourages children’s authors to participate in the well-known BolognaRagazzi Digital Award contest in order to showcase their excellence and innovations in the category of children’s digital publishing on a global level. Entries for this outstanding contest in 2014 are now being accepted free of cost at the official website of Bologna Children’s Book Fair, where entry forms are available for the authors. The deadline for the exhibitors to register for their participation is January 31st, 2014.
Modern technology has offered children’s storytellers and authors several innovative ways to practice their craft and bring their work on children’s literature to the forefront of international audiences. In the effort to blend modern technologies with literature, focusing on children’s interest, Bologna Children’s Book Fair and Children’s Technology Review collaborated to coordinate this event known as the Bologna New Media Prize from 1997 to 2002. This event is open to any publisher free of cost and was recently modernized with a new jury board in 2012, providing a sharper focus on “narrative driven interactive media” in the effort to identify and inspire the innovations in the children’s digital publishing on the international level. The contest is popular as the BolognaRagazzi Digital Award which is now integrated with the BolognaRagazzi prize for printed version of the same volumes.
This award is open to all publishers and developers of applications made for the children between the age of two and five years old. The exhibitors are expected to create and display applications or other forms of interactive media related in some way to the children’s books or ideas or literature that is meant for the children. The participating authors are expected to make sure that their work is current, published within the last twelve months before the deadline.
Some of the international experts of digital media and illustrations will be part of the jury and they will meet in person before the commencement of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair to debate and choose the winner of the contest. The winner of BolognaRagazzi Digital Award will be announced on the very first day of the Bologna book fair, which will be organized in Bologna, Italy from 24th to 27th March, 2014. So, if you are tech savvy and have developed children’s literature incorporating digital technology, do not miss the golden opportunity of participating in this international contest in order to receive excellent exposure to your work in the international market and effectively promote your contributions.
