Amedei – artisanal chocolate from Tuscany – opens first branded boutique in the world, in NYC

For the first time this winter, New Yorkers will have easy access to Amedei’s exquisite collection of artisan chocolates at the world’s first Amedei-branded boutique, located just steps from Union Square.

Online PR News – 09-January-2014 – New York, NY – Amedei Store will offer the brand’s completely pure chocolate bars, pralines and hot chocolate in a superbly designed setting at 15 East 18th Street, between 5th Avenue and Broadway.

Amedei chocolate is crafted in Pontedera, Tuscany by Cecilia Tessieri, the only female maître chocolatier in the world. Cecilia set out to manufacture her own chocolate in 1990, when she began traveling the globe to find the finest cacao beans cultivated to retain the aromatic characters of their indigenous regions. After seven years of testing and implementing the utmost ethical and humanitarian standards for the plantations she selected, Cecilia produced the first chocolate bars carrying the “Amedei” name, the Toscano Black 70%, which remains a best-seller today.

Cecilia maintains complete supervision over the production process from bean to bar, only creating finished products that use plantations’ best harvests and comply with the high quality standards set by Amedei. Cocoa beans that are not used in the production process are resold locally, guaranteeing a constant income for cocoa bean farmers.

Today, Amedei offers more than 140 products, including meticulously crafted Cru bars from Peru, Venezuela, Grenada, Jamaica, Madagascar, Trinidad and Ecuador, popular blends, pralines, and drinking chocolate. Amedei Chocolate is used by some of the world’s most renowned Chefs, and has been praised by international media and chocolate connoisseurs worldwide.
