African Safari Club: Kenya Set to Become Top Tourism Destination for Golfers

Kenya is set to become a leading destination for golfing tour holidays after it received endorsement from top international golfers and the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).

Online PR News – 06-July-2010 – – Kenya is set to become a leading destination for golfing tour holidays after it received endorsement from top international golfers and the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).

The golfing industry generates over a billion dollars a year, and Kenya is on course to earn a share of that revenue by attracting some of the eight million golfers across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

The Kenya Tourist Board (KTB) has identified the golfing market as one of its target diversification groups, and will look to promote the country’s golfing opportunities particularly during the low season.

Peter Walton, chief executive of IAGTO, said that golfers, who generally spend between 50 and 200 per cent more money than leisure tourists during their trips, “will get value for money” in Kenya.

Golfing is set to become big business in Kenya, but the country is perhaps most famously known in the tourism industry for its outstanding selection of safari sites. One of Britain’s market leaders in providing safari holidays to Kenya is African Safari Club, who have been operating Kenya holidays for over 40 years. In recent years the company has expanded its holiday portfolio beyond Kenya to include other African resorts, including cruises along the River Nile, and top class holiday resorts in Egypt.

Kenya holidays from Africa Safari Club offer outstanding value for money. Prices for a week’s holiday to Kenya this summer start from just £839 per person; this includes all airport taxes, transfers from Mombasa airport to your hotel, half/full board accommodation (depending on hotel) and welcoming and leaving drinks at your destination.
