The seaside resort are continuing their huge success from the innovative French-flavoured marketing campaign for the resort and are due to launch a daily YouTube weather forecast from the resort.
The weather reports will be provided by characters including contortionists, magicians, clowns and even a diver who will give his full report from the SEALife Centre.
The service was launched after SKV commissioned an ipsos MORI poll which revealed that 48 per cent of British adults are more likely to trust local rather than national news sources to give the most accurate forecast.
Out of those surveys nine per cent of people trust their own instinct the most, with most believing old wives tales, superstitions, sayings such as ‘red sky at night, shepherd’s delight’ are trusted the most in this respect.
Geraldine Vesey, a director at SKV Communications, said, "The micro-climate in Blackpool is a subject that came up in virtually every conversation we had in Blackpool with the tourism team and this initiative is a direct way of communicating that Blackpool does indeed have better weather than is reported in generic forecasts for the whole region that brush over the fact that it's on the coast on a flat plain.
"The survey demonstrated that people don't really trust weather forecasts, so creating our own on-the-spot one will be a real help when people are planning days out."
Helen France, executive director of regeneration and tourism at Blackpool, said, "Places like Blackpool, which has its own micro-climate, are often sunny when places close by are overcast.
"We can often be overlooked by generic regional forecasts, which mean we can miss out on potential revenue from tourists.
"As a resort we wanted to do something proactive, so our daily weather webcast will give people the chance to see how nice the weather is before coming for a day out and more importantly won't miss out on a day's activity because they think it's raining.
"Even if it is raining, there is still plenty to do here."
This new way of attracting people to the seaside resort is proving popular with tourists as they are provided with more detailed information about their trip to the seaside resort.
