Novo Nordisk will serve as title sponsor of the The New Jersey Marathon, set for April 27, 2014, at the Jersey Shore. The Danish firm, headquartered in Plainsboro, N.J., was an official sponsor in 2013. The agreement connects the global health care company to NJ's Marathon.
Online PR News – 21-November-2013 – Monmouth Beach, N.J. – US Road Sports, owner of The New Jersey Marathon, today announced that Novo Nordisk will serve as title sponsor of the Novo Nordisk New Jersey Marathon, April 27, 2014, at the Jersey Shore.
The Danish firm, headquartered in the U.S. in Plainsboro, N.J., expands on its official sponsorship status from 2013, during which it also served as title sponsor of the Novo Nordisk Health and Fitness Expo and Official Pharmaceutical Company of the event.
As part of the partnership, Novo Nordisk will create a running team to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association. The company will also develop special awards in the Novo Nordisk New Jersey Marathon for runners with diabetes.
“We couldn't have asked for a better title sponsor or one who would be a better fit for the Novo Nordisk New Jersey Marathon,” said Race Director Joe Gigas. “In addition to having its North American headquarters here in New Jersey, Novo Nordisk shares our vision of health and wellness through running.”

The popular race, which starts at historic Monmouth Park in Oceanport, continues through Monmouth Beach, Deal, Allenhurst, Lock Arbour, Asbury Park, Ocean Grove and Long Branch.
The weekend of April 25-27 is a celebration of exercise, health, fitness and wellness. It includes the Novo Nordisk New Jersey Marathon and Long Branch Half Marathon and Relay on Sunday, April 27; new ShapingNJ 5K and Barnabas Health Family Festival and Kids Races on Saturday, April 26; The New Jersey Marathon Health and Fitness Expo on Friday and Saturday, April 25-26. Additionally, it offers world-class courses designed for speed, great area restaurants and attractions, and amazing oceanfront scenery.
