Online PR News – 20-November-2013 – Georgetown, Grand Cayman – Georgetown, Grand Cayman: Michael Brandon may now be the most certified air conditioning technician in the Cayman Islands. Regardless, at the age of only 21, Michael is definitely the youngest Caymanian to earn globally respected certifications from both the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and NATE (North American Technical Excellence). Michael recently spent over a month attending two different elite air conditioning training facilities located in Texas and Arkansas.

“I’ve always liked learning about all types of technology,” said Michael Brandon during an on camera interview. “As an apprentice for Polar Bear I gained tons of experience but the opportunity to attend these courses took my knowledge to the next level. It’s motivating to work for a company that’s willing to send young guys like me away for additional hands-on education”

Attending these advanced training programs offered by HVAC Learning Solutions and Ultimate Technical Academy are extremely expensive and do not guarantee that the attendee will actually pass the certification tests. Michael’s passion for technology and positive attitude proved useful when he passed both exams on his first attempt. Historically, technicians across North America may take years to prepare for NATE certification and others don’t pass the test the first time. Michael exceeded normal expectations.

“We’re extremely proud of what Michael has accomplished in a very short amount time,” said Betty Ann Mobley co-owner of Polar Bear. “Our business has and will always be a family business. Parents do whatever it takes to afford their children the best education possible and I feel exactly the same way about increasing the knowledge of our Polar Bear family.”

In addition to the above named courses Michael also had the opportunity to visit the Lennox corporate headquarters in Richardson, Texas. It was here that Michael learned how to install the latest and most energy efficient air conditioning system to ever hit the market, Lennox’s XC25. Air conditioning is a necessity in Cayman and energy efficiency is more critical than ever with never ending hikes in electricity costs. Studies show that a high volume of air conditioning systems are incorrectly installed which instantly compromises energy efficiency. This fact is precisely why Polar Bear remains dedicated to staying on top of the latest industry advancements including ways to increase its customer’s energy efficiency.

“Michael was not the first and is certainly not the last technician that will be sent abroad for training,” said Chuck Mobley co-owner of Polar Bear. “We take customer satisfaction and quality control extremely seriously. Elite air conditioning installation, maintenance and repair starts with well educated techs.”

Polar Bear Air Conditioning has provided commercial and residential air conditioning services to customers across Cayman for nearly 25 years. Regardless of current experience, young & motivated Caymanians are always encouraged to apply for Polar Bear’s informative apprentice programs.
