Online PR News – 15-November-2013 – Raleigh/North Carolina – Unique Concepts, a custom contract furniture manufacturer based in North Carolina, recently donated a custom lectern to the AIA Center for Architecture and Design. Lynne Leach, co-owner of Unique Concepts, who has worked personally with the AIA Center, was proud to donate the gift to such a great organization.
“We work a lot with architects, and are very happy to be able to support the state organization,” Leach said. “Also the new building is a great place for meetings and seminars, and we are very proud to be able to enhance the ability to host events there.”
The lectern was made to be mobile so it could easily be moved around to different areas. It has a flat, sloped black plastic laminate work surface, and open storage on the presenter’s side. It features a unique material called Designtex “Fusion.” It was completed within a typical six to eight week lead-time, and was delivered to AIA on September 24, 2013.
“We thought the Designtex “Fusion” material would add interest to the lectern, and provide a bit of contrast for the natural maple that makes up most of the lectern,” Leach said.
The North Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects is the state-wide organization for the architectural profession in the state of North Carolina. Services include seminars, lectures and workshops through a variety of resources including the AIA North Carolina Continuing Education Academy. They also deal with public policy development and legislation that affects architecture, building codes construction and planning.
David Crawford, Executive Vice President of AIA North Carolina Chapter couldn’t be happier about the new addition to the AIA Center.
“I got a chance to see the lectern and wow is it wonderful! Unique Concepts nailed it. It is the perfect complement to the aesthetic in the building,” Crawford said. “From all of us here at the AIA and the many users of our Center, we are grateful for the wonderful donation.”
