“We are very excited to begin our journey to create meaningful change in today’s world. We know our toughest world challenges demand a new kind of leader – one with those skills found at ICL. Our inaugural ICL class is set to begin in January 2014 – we want to generate as much interest as possible through our launch event as we continue to fill our first class,” said Lodro Rinzler, founder of ICL, teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist lineage and the author of the best-selling book "The Buddha Walks into a Bar."
Designed for those in their 20’s, the ICL will integrate executive coaching, mentorship, authenticity training, and job-placement networking under one umbrella, with the aim that those completing the training will be part of a new generation empowered with tools to create lasting positive change in the world. Rinzler drew the inspiration to found the ICL from his best college friend Alex Orent, described by President Obama as a compassionate advocate for social change who channeled that energy into senatorial and presidential campaigns before his life came to an untimely end in 2012. Applications for the ICL’s first round of trainees are being sought.
