Wheeling Board of REALTORS® Launches Mobile Real Estate App

The Wheeling Board of REALTORS®, which serves more than 160 real estate professionals in Wheeling, launched the WBOR mobile app, a free mobile application that gives today’s real estate consumer with accurate real estate data.

Online PR News – 12-November-2013 – Wheeling, WV – Real estate search has changed dramatically. Gone are the days of looking for listings in the thick MLS book, printed on a weekly basis and available only through the local real estate office. Today’s real estate search is instantaneous and done on-the-go as more and more home buyers use their mobile devices to search for properties while they are out and about.

According to a survey by the National Association of REALTORS and Google, 89% of recent home buyers report using mobile search at some point throughout their process of buying a home, while 68% report using mobile apps.

But not all mobile real estate search is created equal. While third party apps claim to provide the latest real estate data, they often do not have direct access to the Multiple Listing System (MLS), the source of the once popular printed real estate book and the official database of real estate listings. This means that their data can often be out-of-date.

The Wheeling Board of REALTORS®, which serves more than 160 real estate professionals in Wheeling, recognized the need to provide their agents and today’s home buyers and sellers with the latest real estate data available on any mobile device. In 2012, they launched the WBOR mobile app, a free mobile application that gives today’s real estate consumer a direct feed into the MLS. Updated throughout the day, the app provides local buyers and sellers with accurate real estate data, searchable by GPS location, or any number of other search criteria. The app is free to download and use for both members and consumers.

Most recently, Wheeling Board of REALTORS® launched a special offer for members, which allows them the opportunity to get a custom branded version of the mobile app. Free for the first 60 days; the custom branded version features the agent’s brand and contact information. Once the app has been shared, users can easily get in touch with that agent via phone or email when they find a property they love. It’s a great source of information for today’s consumers and allows them to build strong relationships with their real estate agent directly.
