06/28/2010 veteran Max Steinberg increases his total tournament winnings to $497,689 after placing 2nd for $352,916 in Event 8 of the World Series of Poker.

Online PR News – 28-June-2010 – – Max Steinberg, a long time member of, has won $352,916 for finishing in 2nd place in Event 8 of this year’s World Series of Poker.

The young professional poker player is only 21 years old, but he’s been playing poker for 5 years. While he usually plays as 'RunItTrim' on a Full Tilt Poker download, he will be in Vegas for the duration of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) with hopes of winning a bracelet. Steinberg’s last large tournament cash was back in 2008 when he won $144,773 in a PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour event for another 2nd place finish.

The 2010 version of Event 8 boasted a $1,500 buy-in and a $3,160,350 prize pool. 2,341 players started the event, but only 25 players made it as far as Day 3.

15 of these 25 players were eliminated by the time it was time for dinner break on Day 3. Steinberg started the final table as the 4th largest stack, and he used it to eliminate a total of 3 players. He busted Josh Brikis and Saar Wilf at the same time when his JJ managed to hold against AKs and AKo. He found salvation in JJ for a second time when he later beat 77 and sent Daniel Wjuniski packing.

The poker hands Steinberg saw when playing heads-up with Pascal LeFrancois weren’t as helpful. While he was able to double his stack once with AKs against A8o, he was unable to overcome his opponent’s 9 to 1 chip lead. He eventually busted 20 min into heads-up with flopped bottom pair versus LeFrancois’s flopped second pair.

With two 2nd place finishes in big live events, Steinberg’s total live tournament winnings amount to almost $500,000. In order to track the rest of his 2010 WSOP accomplishments, search for his posts on where he is known as 'Numbr2intheWorld'.
