Practitioners and business leaders play an important role during course development and delivery at the institution. This is to ensure that the courses being offered are relevant and updated to meet the current as well as future needs of the changing business world. Senior executives from the corporate world take charge of 25 to 30 per cent of every course at IMT Hyderabad. The exclusive Business Orientation Program is part of the same vision and spread over a two-week period. The second semester of the institution’s first-year starts with this innovative exercise .Aiming to make first-year students aware about specific industry and business contexts, it provides them with a strong platform to interact with business leaders and identify industry sectors and areas of interest to guide their choice of projects and courses. Industry professionals also bring the strength of their extensive networks to benefit students.

Through lecture and discussion sessions, invited business leaders outline the dynamics pertaining to a particular sector and share their experience in building their business. As part of the many exciting sessions during the BOP, a group of students makes up the ‘anchor team’ and is assigned to each business leader. The teams interact closely with a business leader during his or her stay at the institute and undertake extensive research on a chosen sector, analyzing the characteristics as well as challenges in the sector. The anchor team helps enhance learning by raising existing issues as well as posing questions of relevance, which benefit any prospective employee in that sector. Students are evaluated on any two sectors of their choice thus helping reinforce and crystallize the key learning outcome. IMT Hyderabad faculty designs the evaluations after taking inputs from the respective business leaders.

The institution offers a number of innovative and well-recognized management programs that include a PGDM, Executive PGDM, Fellowship Program, and Executive Education Programs.
