New film-based social network filmies has today announced its panel of chosen affiliates that will partner the site when it launches later this month.
Online PR News – 06-November-2013 – London – Lovefilm, Amazon, Blinkbox and Apple's iTunes makes up the list, which provide filmies users with options to watch the films that are recommended to them.
Filmies launches on Friday 8 November in beta, its creators are hoping to gain around 5,000 users initially to test the site, before a much harder launch planned for early 2014.
Filmies aims to change the way that film fans interact online, and change the way users make and receive film recommendations by making them trustworthy.
Users of filmies create networks of friends and share film recommendations. Each recommendation has a number of viewing options for the user, and the site provides links to the film on each affiliate partners own site.
The chosen partners were carefully chosen by filmies after extensive research, and seek to provide users with a range of purchasing options that reflect current tastes and trends in film viewing.
Director Neil McClure commented today "the panel we have chosen allows our users to watch films in a number of different formats. Filmies will allow users to stream or download online, and even to physically buy it, depending on what suits them"
The panel, however, is not a closed shop, and filmies have not ruled out future changes to their panel of suppliers.
"We will review our panel of providers frequently, and we will add or remove suppliers if our users demand it" McClure added. "We want to provide the most relevant service possible to our users, and the panel will reflect latest trends in a very dynamic marketplace"
The site will go live on Friday 8th November in beta format. Users can register their interest now at www.filmies.co.uk
