HNC recently opened a 4500 square-foot Pacifica House facility in Carlsbad to offer patients an environment that’s a home-like alternative to staying in the hospital, and where they can safely and comfortably receive around the clock hospice palliative care. It’s the first freestanding hospice facility of its kind in North County with a registered nurse on site 24/7 and six private patient suites. Bonnie Bell, HNC Manager of Access and Customer Support explains, “Our services help patients and families focus on what’s most important – enjoying life together and living as fully as possible. Our hospice team provides expert medical care as well as emotional and spiritual support for the entire family, and our Pathways program provides education and support for those not quite ready for hospice. We also engage in an extensive active military and Veteran outreach effort through the Hope Bereavement Center program that serves the unique set of circumstances and needs of U.S. military personnel. We’re available to help our veterans and their families navigate healthcare choices with dignity and peace of mind.”
