LCD/LED TV Segment has been growing rapidly for last five years. It will take over completely by replacing CRT TVs in next 3 to 4 years. There are many technological advancement taking place in Flat Panel TV Segment such as introduction of OLED TVs and ultra High Definition TVs, which would prepare the Indian Consumer Electronic Industry to plan the development & manufacturing of next generation of Flat Panel TVs and explore greater value addition in the country. All these developments will certainly enhance the viewing pleasure of consumers.
This conference was a progressive step towards practical solutions that will result in the creation of a long-term, sustainable investment model and will prepare the Industry for technological advancements taking place in Flat Panel TV Segment.
Mr. J Satyanarayan, IAS, Secretary, DeitY was the chief guest for the conference.
Eminent Speakers included the Policy makers, Senior Government officials, distinguished personalities of international repute and Indian Electronic Industry leaders.
To throw light on the emerging trends in Flat Panel TV segment some of the eminent personalities of Consumer Electronic segment had given their presentations.
Chief Guest, Mr. J. Satyanarayan, IAS, Secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, told that there is an ample of opportunity in the sector of consumer electronics and the industries need to come forward with new projects and investments. He further applauded the efforts of CEAMA in taking forward the industry concerns to various ministries and govt. departments.
Guest of Honour, Dr Ajay Kumar Joint Secretary, IAS, Department of Electronics & IT, spoke about Government’s efforts to encourage & incentivise electronic hardware manufacturing through schemes such as Modified SIPs, Manufacturing Clusters etc. He mentioned about the Governments approving setting up of two fab plants for semiconductors in the country.
` Industries told that a substantial growth took place in the last 5 years in the segment of Flat panel TVs, he further told that a focused positive outlook is needed for improving economy, demand from emerging countries, price erosion on larger size displays, and potential uptick in demand for the Flat panel TVs.
Mr. Manish Sharma, managing Director, Panasonic India discussed on TV Technology Trends in India, pricing, consumer preference & taste and Regulatory challenges affecting the FPD business in India.
Mr. H.C Hung, Vice President, AUO highlighted that how technology emerged in past few years. He further threw light on emerging new technologies for next 3 /5 years and what future displays will look like. He also covered up the regulatory aspects and support of Government in other countries for LED / LCD Promotion for market increase and in house manufacturing.
Mr. K W Kim in his presentation talked about the developments in chip designing & fabrication for Flat panel TVs” and highlighted the trends in designing side for future display technology.
Mr. Rishi Tandan, Marketing Head, LG Electronics focused on the Global Flat Panel market and device trends, he further highlighted on the region wise demand for emerging trends in TV technology and the factors influencing the Flat Panel Industry.
Mr. Niju V, Director, Frost & Sullivan focused on the FPD market opportunities in India and the prevailing trends, he further mooted over the manufacturing challenges and importance of this industry as part of overall Consumer Electronics Industry.
Mr. Indrajit Ghosh, Director, Display Search, presented the Current and Future Display Technologies in flat panel segment he further talked about the ASIAN perspective and demand of flat panel TV market, he further highlighted the current and upcoming trends of flat Panel TV at global market
Mr. Sunil Khandkar, Director, Samsung Asia, discussed on the developments such as 4k 3D & OLED, he further talked about shift in demand for LED televisions at global level. He informed that the OLED technology has a huge potential to change the entire display industry in the coming years.
