Annual healthcare conference to focus on healthcare reform
Online PR News – 24-June-2010 – – The National Association of Managed Care Physicians (NAMCP) has announced that it will hold it’s 14th annual Fall Managed Care Forum Nov. 4-5, 2010 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. The Fall Managed Care Forum is designed to provide medical directors, nurse case managers and administrators from purchasers, plans and providers, IPAs, PHOs and other integrated delivery systems with the appropriate tools, resources and knowledge to improve patient outcomes in Managed Care environments and global network systems. The Forum is a two-day, accredited educational and networking opportunity. Each day of the Forum opens with a general session that addresses a global topic relevant to managed care. Past topics have included the Future of Healthcare Delivery in Managed Care, Healthcare Reform and The State of Consumer Driven Healthcare.
This year’s forum is returning to the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada, which was the site of the 2009 Fall Managed Care Forum. The agenda will feature four different tracks, which include the Business track, the Health Management track, the Oncology track, and the Genomics/Biotech track. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend session in all four tracks across the two days.
The business session addresses issues and concerns relevant to the non-clinical business side of medicine. Past topics include contracting, clinical integration and managing denials. The health management session addresses clinical and population health concerns in managed care. Since Cancer is becoming a chronic illness, the cancer sessions will provide participants with appropriate education on issues such as survivorship, benefit issues, pharmacoeconomics, palliative care and up to date treatment options. The genomics/biotech sessions address the issues surrounding genetic testing, biologic treatments, diagnostic concerns and more. Past conference evaluations have revealed that participants like to choose from each of the sessions and this format encourages participants to bring other healthcare professionals from their organizations.
The Fall Managed Care Forum is sponsored and hosted by three sister organizations: the National Association of Managed Care Physicians (NAMCP), the American Association of Managed Care Nurses (AAMCN), and the American Association of Integrated Healthcare Delivery Systems (AAIHDS). The Fall Managed Care Forum provides continuing education for physicians and nurses. NAMCP plans to release the full agenda at the end of June. Visit www.namcp.org for more information.
