Online PR News – 10-September-2013 – Chicago, IL – Former NBA and college Academic All American Stephen Howard – who works as a college basketball TV analyst for ESPN and as the TV studio analyst for the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans – visited his alma mater, DePaul University, to speak at their athletic orientation on September 9th. He welcomed the incoming freshmen student-athletes to the DePaul athletic department and shared his experiences about what it is to be a student-athlete at the Division I level. This is the fifth year Howard – a former academic All-American for the Blue Demons – spoke to the incoming classes for DePaul.

“It feels just like yesterday that I was an incoming freshman athlete for DePaul,” said Howard, who played at DePaul from 1988 to 1992. “ While the university certainly equips its student-athletes with tools for success, it’s always nice to hear from someone who has been in their shoes and I hope my story can help others as they transition into college life, both academically and athletically.”
