Online PR News – 17-June-2010 – – MISHIS is a charity that African Safari Club have supported by providing free flights to Kenya to the patron Emma Tanner from Lincolnshire.
Emma explains how the charity came about “MISHIS is a new project, started in September 2009 named after a young girl who I met whilst visiting Kenya with African Safari Club. Mishi was all the motivation and inspiration I needed to start the project. The aim of MISHIS is to raise funds to help support and develop the needs of Hakika Hope Community School and its pupils. With the support of African Safari Club I hope to make a real difference.”
As the charities efforts have developed Emma now has supporters who sponsor children at the school and who are also actively involved in raising funds for future school projects such as building bathroom and toilet facilities for the children.
MISHIS also have longer term aims; they are looking to raise enough money to buy a plot of land, so that they can build their own school. If this can be achieved, with no landlord to pay, the school will be there forever.
MISHIS have also applied to take part in the Vodafone World of Difference Programme, which will enable Emma to spend a year working full time for the charity. Corporate sponsors such as African Safi Club and REEBOK have also become involved with the charity and the future is already looking brighter for the pupils at Hakika Hope Community School.
