“‘A Novella Called ‘Launch Day’ is about a book, a futuristic retelling of Sodom and Gomorrah,” said Faith.
“A Novella Called ‘Launch Day’” is a Christian dystopian for a teen audience, and is narrated by two main characters, a set of Irish twins--two children born to the same biological parents, at least the same biological mother--named Liam and Keeley McAllister. The story takes place in twenty-sixth century Ireland, part of a worldwide government and economy, and begins when the siblings’ father falls gravely ill and passes away. According to their father’s dying wish, Liam and Keeley set out to the bookstore owned by him and their legal guardian to get a key to a forbidden Christian bookstore, where they will find the most treasured of Christian classics. At their father’s store, the two adolescents find a fictional retelling of the Biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah’s destruction, which contains an important message for their time.
