In honor of workers nationwide, Operation Kindness is offering $25 off all pet adoptions during Labor Day weekend: Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, through Monday, Sept. 2, 2013. Celebrated on the first Monday in September, Labor Day is a national tribute to U.S. workers.

Details: Regular adoption fees are $110 for cats, $135 for kittens (under 1 year of age), $160 for dogs and $185 for puppies (under 1 year of age). Adoption fees help cover the costs of caring for the animals at Operation Kindness, such as tests, vaccinations, collars/tags, microchipping, spay/neuter surgery, medical procedures, surgeries, rehabilitation and recovery. Operation Kindness spends more than $270 on average for each animal in its care.
