K12 Enterprise Adds Employee Self Service Portal

K12 Enterprise Adds Employee Self Service Portal for Streamlined Workflow and
Reduced Paperwork in School Districts

Online PR News – 16-June-2010 – – K12 Enterprise, Microsoft’s leading financial and human resource management software for K through 12 school systems, released its employee self service portal, providing school systems with better access to information, while significantly reducing paperwork. The employee self service portal is a web-based application that is easy to use and accessible to all employees in a school system. Employees can access their demographic information for verification purposes or to make changes, view their paychecks, update direct deposit instructions, access forms, and more. All change requests made online by an employee are routed through a sophisticated workflow engine for approval and eventual updating of the employee’s master record.

“School districts are eager for technology that gives better access to information, reduces administrative tasks, and minimizes not only paperwork, but paper consumption,” said Andrew Fass CEO of K12 Enterprise. “K12 Enterprise’s employee self service portal provides all employees in a district the ability to access information more quickly and easily. And because paychecks are viewed online, districts are saving time and money on printing and distributing paystubs. This greatly reduces unnecessary paper use, helping districts to be more environmentally friendly.”

Pennsylvania school district Westmont Hilltop is in the early stages of deploying K12 Enterprise’s employee self service portal. Their main goals are to provide employees with better access to information, while reducing administrative tasks in the school business office. K12 Enterprise’s workflow engine will also increase the accuracy of information and improve the district’s ability to monitor and approve updates.

“K12 Enterprise’s employee self service portal will give our employees easy access to information while streamlining our HR and payroll operations,” said Gregory Sanford, business manager at Westmont Hilltop School District. “We are looking forward to using this technology throughout the district.”

“We have a very strong product roadmap that includes features that will greatly enhance the system,” said Fass. “We actively listen to our customers and incorporate functionality that school business administrators are asking for.”
