Online PR News – 21-August-2013 – Memphis, TN – Coming off a banner year in 2013, the On Location: MEMPHIS International Film & Music Fest is now looking for entries for the 15th edition of the event – taking place next April 24th -27th in the city’s historic midtown section.

Filmmakers from around the Bluff City and around the globe are invited to submit their works in the categories of Feature, Documentary, Live Action Short, Animation, and Music Video. The films will be screened in front of passionate and knowledgeable audiences in one of the world’s most creative cities. What’s more, the winner in each category will take home a coveted miniature Airstream trailer trophy. These are just some of the reasons why On Location: MEMPHIS was a 2013 finalist for MovieMaker Magazine’s list of its 25 Coolest Film Festivals.

Four different deadlines and corresponding entry fees are currently available. The early bird deadlines are in mid-September, with entries being accepted through December 31st. All films should be submitted via Withoutabox. There filmmakers will find specific deadlines and prices dependent upon the type of film they are entering. Special discounted fees are also available for projects with pre-purchased Discount Packs.

Films do not have to be a premiere but should not have screened in Memphis at other festivals or public screenings.

In addition to the films themselves, panel discussions on topics of relevance in the film industry are presented by experts in the field during each festival. On Location: MEMPHIS draws a wide range of VIPs as well, as past guests have included Morgan Freeman, Vivica Fox, Robert Townsend, the late Isaac Hayes, Johhny Cash’s drummer Fluke Holland and a host of other notable celebrity visitors.

Musicians working in a variety of music ranging from rock to hip-hop, jazz, blues, and beyond make up the music portion of the program, many of whom are ready and willing to use their music in film projects.
