Online PR News – 14-June-2010 – – Denver, CO – CollegeAmerica will now offer General Educational Development or GED® tutoring at its campus in Denver, Colorado at no charge. The college had earlier launched this program at its Colorado Springs facility.
By extending the program to its campus in the capital city of Colorado, the college is looking to target individuals in the area who want to attend college, but do not meet the eligibility criterion because they have not graduated from high school.
A GED certificate, which is equivalent to a high school diploma, is an acceptable credential for college programs and is designed for individuals who do not have a high school diploma.
Candidates are awarded a GED certificate after they take the required examinations that test their knowledge in writing, reading, math, science, and social studies. Candidates who take these tests are expected to show high school-level competence in these subject areas.
The tutoring program at CollegeAmerica involves taking a pre-test to identify the subject areas that need focused tutoring. The candidates are required to take the pre-test after going through the admissions process with the Admissions Consultant, who ensures the program meets their specific requirements.
Once the tutoring starts, candidates can come in at their own convenience as there are no fixed schedules to follow. Moreover, they can choose to remain in coaching as long as they don’t feel confident taking the GED tests.
Once candidates express their preparedness and have completed the entire admissions process, CollegeAmerica will arrange for them to take the exam at a nearby testing facility. All candidates who attend the GED tutoring program at CollegeAmerica will be required to take the exam at the same venue.
