Igus Launched lubrication-free miniature linear axis “SLN-27”

The new designed dry running miniature linear axis to position small loads

Online PR News – 06-August-2013 – Bangalore, Karnataka – Small, extremely lightweight and flat: these are the features of the miniature linear axis “SLN-27” from igus, presented at the Hannover Fair. Designed for simple handling tasks, it is available with or without stepper motor.

The lubrication-free miniature linear axis “SLN-27” is based on the proven miniature guide system “drylin N” size 27. Material and design make “drylin N” to be as equally flexible as an inexpensive guide system. The guiding trough consists of durable anodized aluminium. With its compact dimensions of 22 mm height and 28 mm width “SLN-27” is primarily suitable for restricted spaces. With its basic weight of only 60g, this unit is one of the flyweights of the driven linear guide systems. Even with the maximal stroke length of 250 mm, the miniature actuator weighs only160g. The axis can be delivered in combination with a NEMA 11 stepper motor. Then the outer dimensions are still compact with 28 x 28 mm. Alternatively motors from other manufacturers can be quickly and easily connected with the universal size NEMA 11 via a motor flange.

Plastic plain bearings in the spindle bearings and in the carriage provide a completely lubrication and maintenance-free system. The effective tilting clearance of the carrier can be adjusted with four setscrews. The feed is realized over a spindle with a diameter of 5 mm, pitch variations of 0,8 respectively 5 mm are available. The compact unit is appropriated for linear movements with low load and besides sensor adjustments, also simple handling tasks in the equipment and laboratory technology are fields of application.
