FreeAgent Announces New Payment Integration With Stripe

Online accounting leader FreeAgent teams up with Stripe to offer new service to make payments easier for US small businesses and freelancers

Online PR News – 02-August-2013 – Chicago, Illinois – Online accounting provider FreeAgent has teamed up with innovative American payment company Stripe to give customers in the United States an easier way to get paid by their clients.

FreeAgent has announced a new integration with Stripe that enables freelancers and microbusinesses in the United States to set up online payments on their invoices - enabling their clients to pay them more easily and quickly, without the need to set up a specific merchant account to handle the transaction.

The partnership enables FreeAgent users to collect online invoice payments from their customers, who pay directly from their bank accounts and don’t incur expensive service charges for making payments; with Stripe charging $0.30 and 2.9% of the invoice total.

The Stripe integration will form a key component of FreeAgent’s growing payment portal, which provides payment options to its US and UK customers in partnership with other innovative online payment providers such as PayPal, Dwolla and GoCardless.

Ed Molyneux, CEO and co-founder of FreeAgent, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Stripe. They’re a really innovative company and pioneers in the online payment space - so they’re the perfect partner for us as we continue to develop our FreeAgent America product to make it the most intuitive cloud accounting system for freelancers and small businesses.

“We know that one of the toughest things for small businesses and freelancers is chasing payment from their customers. And when you’re waiting for checks to come in the mail or facing the hassle of credit card fees, this can be a big distraction from actually running and growing your business.

“By integrating with Stripe, we’re providing our customers with an efficient and cost-effective method of invoicing their clients and accepting payments - which allows them more time to manage the rest of their business affairs.”

John Collison, Co-Founder and President of Stripe, added: "FreeAgent is making it dead-simple to manage your books online. Integrating with Stripe, the easiest way to accept payments, takes all the hassle out of invoicing. It's a great combination."
