The Historic Committee: This committee was set in 1991, and focused on combating threats posed by inter-militant and separatist groups in the SAARC region. It also looked to discuss amendments of the SAARC Charter. This committee gave a unique opportunity for the delegates to travel back in time and become world leaders of the past to rectify the errors that our leaders may have overlooked.
The Present Committee:This committee was set in the present day, principally discussing illegal narcotics trade and the question of arms trafficking and means to combat threats of terror and infiltration via the Bay of Bengal, which continue to impede development in the SAARC region.
The Futuristic Committee:This committee was set in the year 2019 and deliberated the issue of Kashmir. With the creation of a fictitious organization, led by General AshfaqKayani of Pakistan, The committee dealt with constant crises and emergencies that threaten the newly found peace between India and Pakistan.
SAARC Finance: The SAARC Finance Committee was formed to “share experiences on macro-economic policy issues among member countries of the region.” The committee discussed economic co-operation and the possibility of a single currency union in the SAARC. This committee was for those that have great economic understanding backed up by hours of work put into understanding the country’s stance on economic integration.
International Committee for Global Conciliation: The ICGC is an imaginary committee. This unique committee comprised the most important members of ‘The United Nations Security Council, SAARC,African Union,European Union and the Arab League.’ This committee debated on the threat of World War due to radical change in military policies because of the dual attack by the US and its allies on Iran unleashing the Triangle Effect.
