Margaret Carlson, renowned Political Journalist and Commentator, will speak on current events in politics at Tiger Bay Club of Southwest Florida Speaker's Series Event in Fort Myers, FL.

During her appearance, Carlson will offer powerful insight into the inner workings of Washington that can only come from someone with her experience and skills. Margaret Carlson is the Washington editor of THE WEEK and a political columnist for Bloomberg News. In 1988, Carlson joined TIME magazine and served as White House correspondent and deputy Washington bureau chief. From 1994 to 2005, she wrote the “Public Eye” column for TIME magazine, becoming the first female columnist in the magazine's history. At CNN, Carlson appeared on Crossfire and Inside Politics and for 15 years, served as a panelist weekly on The Capital Gang. Her journalism career has also included stints as managing editor at The New Republic and Washington bureau chief for Esquire magazine. Carlson earned a law degree from George Washington University Law School and completed her undergraduate work at Penn State University. She has one daughter and lives in Washington, D.C.
