Michael C. Craven, one of the divorce lawyers in Chicago, was recently elected as Secretary of the North Suburban Bar Association. This Association unites the lawyers in Chicago’s northern suburbs.

Craven was elected to serve as NSBA’s Secretary at the organization’s annual meeting on June 11. The NSBA is a premier professional organization to unite and advance lawyers in Chicago’s northern suburbs. According to its mission statement, the NSBA “strives to ensure the fairness and accessibility of the legal system, promote public understanding and confidence in the justice system, and to work closely with the Circuit Court of Cook County to improve the administration of justice.” As Secretary, Craven will be one of seven sitting officers dedicated to advancing these goals.

Craven’s election adds to a long list of leadership roles in the legal and Chicago Divorce Lawyer community. He has previously been appointed to the Illinois State Bar Association’s Family Law Council, where he served on the Council’s Maintenance and Cyber Spying sub-committees. In addition, Chicago Divorce Lawyer, Craven, was also the Associate Editor for the Family Law Section Council’s newsletter for 2010/2011. He also served as the chair of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Voluntary Fee Arbitration.

Craven has also been recognized for his divorce law practice. In 2011, Craven was named a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a prestigious group of attorneys who have been recognized as the nation's top family law legal advisors. He has also been named an Illinois Super Lawyer, “representing the top 5% of the practicing attorneys in Illinois,” every year since 2009. Also, every year since 2009, Craven named as one of the best divorce lawyers in Chicago by the Leading Lawyers Network.
