Online PR News – 09-July-2013 – GREENVILLE, S.C. – Mike Pennington, co-owner of Funnelicious and Rhino Concessions, will be one of the featured speakers at the 2013 Municipal Association of South Carolinaâ€™s Annual Meeting on July 19.
Pennington will be speaking on a panel on what draws young professionals to cities and the importance of engaged young professionals to the future success of South Carolina cities.
The Municipal Association represents all of the stateâ€™s 270 cities and towns providing training, lobbying and other services to municipal officials. The annual meeting typically draws about 1000 local officials.
A Greenville native, Pennington graduated from the University of South Carolina with a double major in marketing and entrepreneurship. He also minored in sports management and hotel restaurant and tourism. While in school, he served as an equipment manager for the USC football team working under Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier.
Pennington has been active in Greenville Chamber of Commerce young professionals group, PULSE for more than three years and has been on the Advisory Counsel for two years. In addition, Pennington volunteers with Junior Achievement, teaching job preparedness and interviewing skills to high school students. He serves on the Opportunity Greenville board as well as LiveWell Greenville - Access to Healthy Foods action committee. He is active in Fresh Start SC public charity fundraising and helps coordinate The Funnelicious Community Garden.
