The famous Kwakoe festival is set to make another triumphant return to Amsterdam, running from the 1st July to the 31st August 2010. This is easily the biggest multicultural event in the Netherlands; across its six-week duration a whole host of events and entertainment are on offer.

The Kwakoe Festival is held at Bjilmer Park in Amsterdam South East. The whole area is taken over by a multicultural village, tropical markets and colourful displays. Turkish and West African food can also be found.
For 2010, Kwakoe festival will have three stages spread across the site. The main stage hosts a wide variety of entertainment for all ages – DJs, bands and dance workshops are just some of the entertainment you will find on this stage.
Elsewhere, the culture stage will be the platform for the traditional celebrations of Surinam and, last but not least, the Kwakoe Lounge is where you will find, the poetry and live music presented by Getmixed Radio (a local Amsterdam radio station).
